We Are Authors!

At Park Academy, we believe that every child is a writer. We aim to nurture confident, creative and capable writers who can express themselves with clarity, imagination and purpose. Our writing curriculum is designed to:

• Foster a love of language and storytelling.
• Equip children with the tools to write for a range of audiences and purposes.
• Encourage children to take pride in their writing and see themselves as authors.
• Build resilience, creativity and critical thinking through the writing process.

We celebrate writing in all its forms—from poetry and persuasive letters to adventure stories and non-fiction reports. Our classrooms buzz with ideas  and our pupils are given the space to explore their voices and grow as communicators.

We use the highly effective Talk for Writing approach. This  empowers children to internalise language structures through imitation, innovation and independent application. It’s rooted in the idea that if children can say it, they can write it.

Through Talk for Writing, our pupils:

• Engage in rich oral storytelling and oral rehearsal. 
• Build vocabulary and sentence fluency through repetition and exploration.
• Learn to plan, draft, edit and improve their writing with increasing independence.
• Develop a deep understanding of text types and authorial techniques.
