Parents and carers of Year 1 pupils recently attended a phonics café. Whilst there, parent and carers listened to a brief talk on phonics, detailing what phonics are and how we teach the children to use these skills in learning to read and write. Parents were given the opportunity to play and learn phonics games with their children whilst enjoying a bacon sandwich and a hot beverage.
