On Friday 1st March Year 2 went on a trip to Lincoln Castle.
We left school quite early so that we would have plenty of time at the castle for all the planned activities.
The children took part in various activities which included a medieval banquet, where they got dressed up in different outfits and were served wine (blackcurrant juice) by servants and entertained by minstrels and jesters. Knight training, where they fired bows and arrows and dressed up knights with armour, they then learned all about the different types of armour and how it changed throughout the years. They made shields out of cardboard then cut them out and decorated them. They also went on a medieval castle wall walk where they learned all about the different parts of a castle and also re-enacted the battle between King Louie of France and Sir William!
It was a long bumpy journey on the bus but the children and teachers had a wonderful day and thoroughly enjoyed every minute!
